Jesus is coming soon

“Look! I am coming like a thief! How blessed are those who stay alert and keep their clothes clean, so that they won’t be walking naked and be publicly put to shame!” Revelation 16:15 CJB

Not all that long ago the Lord gave me confirmation that we are right at the door to the second coming of the Messiah, our Lord who is the Word of God, Jesus Christ!

One summer afternoon I was on my sound cloud app on my profile page. Without searching it or pressing play a song began to play, “Summer” by Calvin Harris. I was a bit confused but the Lord had my attention. I grabbed my Bible and asked God for understanding. Looking up, I opened up the Bible and He led me to Amos chapter 8 which began with…

Here is what Adonai ELOHIM showed me: there in front of me was a basket of summer fruit. He asked, “‘Amos, what do you see?” I answered, “A basket of summer  fruit.” Amos 8:1-2 CJB

Out of all the pages in the Bible He opens me up to this page. I continued to read further…

“Here is what Adonai ELOHIM showed me: there in front of me was a basket of summer fruit. He asked, “‘Amos, what do you see?” I answered, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then ADONAI said to me, “The end has come for my people, I will never again overlook their offenses. When that time comes, the songs in the temple will be wailings,” says Adonai ELOHIM. “There will be many dead bodies; everywhere silence will reign.” Listen, you who swallow the needy and destroy the poor of the land!  You say, “When will Rosh-Hodesh be over, so we can market our grain? and Shabbat (Sabbath), so we can sell wheat?” You measure the grain in a small eifah (a small bushel), but the silver in heavy shekels, fixing the scales, so that you can cheat, buying the needy for money and the poor for a pair of shoes, and sweeping up the refuse of the wheat to sell!” ADONAI swears by Ya’akov’s (Jacob’s) pride, “I will forget none of their deeds, ever. Won’t the land tremble for this, and everyone mourn, who lives in the land? It will all rise, just like the Nile, be in turmoil and subside, like the Nile in Egypt. “When that time comes,” says Adonai ELOHIM, “I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight. I will turn your festivals into mourning and all your songs into wailing; I will make you all put sackcloth around your waists and shave your heads bald in grief. I will make it like mourning for an only son and its end like a bitter day. “The time is coming,” says Adonai ELOHIM, “when I will send famine over the land, not a famine of bread or a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of ADONAI. People will stagger from sea to sea and from north to east, running back and forth, seeking the word of ADONAI; but they will not find it. When that time comes, young women and men will faint from thirst. Those who swear by the sin of Shomron (Samaria), who say, ‘As your god, Dan, lives,’ and, ‘As the way of Be’er-Sheva lives’ – they will fall and never get up again.” Amos 8 CJB

After reading this chapter I was reminded of Matthew 24 when the disciples asked Jesus, ““Tell us,” they said, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that you are coming, and that the ‘olam hazeh (the world we currently live in) is ending?”. There are so many similarities between the two chapters. The sun growing dark, a time of mourning, famine, earthquakes (the land trembling), and “summer” representing the end time. Here are the scriptures in Matthew 24 that line up with Amos 8:

“For peoples will fight each other, nations will fight each other, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various parts of the world; all this is but the beginning of the ‘birth-pains.’ At that time you will be arrested and handed over to be punished and put to death, and all peoples will hate you because of me. ” Matthew 24:7-9 CJB
Won’t the land tremble for this, and everyone mourn, who lives in the land?” Amos 8:8 CJB
“When that time comes, the songs in the temple will be wailings,” says Adonai ELOHIM. “There will be many dead bodies; everywhere silence will reign.” Amos 8:3 CJB

“Now let the fig tree teach you its lesson: when its branches begin to sprout and leaves appear, you know that summer is approaching. In the same way, when you see all these things, you are to know that the time is near, right at the door. Yes! I tell you that this people will certainly not pass away before all these things happen.” Matthew 24:32-34 CJB

It is clear that the Lord is telling us that we are in the spiritual season of Summer and that we are right at the door.

Notice that Jesus said, “I tell you that this people will certainly not pass away before all these things happen.” That means that this generation, we who are alive, collectively will not pass away before this all takes place. Things will begin to happen more quickly.

Last night I was watching an interview where some leaders with YWAM reported that by 2033 every tribe and every nation will have digital access to God’s Word in their heart language. We are very close to seeing Matthew 24:14 fulfilled (“And this Good News about the Kingdom will be announced throughout the whole world as a witness to all the Goyim (the Nations). It is then that the end will come.”).

The Lord has been very patient waiting for his children to turn to Him. Eventually that summer fruit will be ripe and ready for our Lord to come and gather us. He ends His message in Matthew 24 about the end of days with this exhortation:

“Who is the faithful and sensible servant whose master puts him in charge of the household staff, to give them their food at the proper time? It will go well with that servant if he is found doing his job when his master comes. Yes, I tell you that he will put him in charge of all he owns. But if that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is taking his time’; and he starts beating up his fellow servants and spends his time eating and drinking with drunkards; then his master will come on a day the servant does not expect, at a time he doesn’t know; and he will cut him in two and put him with the hypocrites, where people will wail and grind their teeth!” Matthew 24:45-50 CJB

May you be found as the faithful and sensible servant. We do not know the exact day nor hour but we do know that we are right at the door in the spiritual season of Summer. I encourage you to become deeply rooted in His Word, return to Him, draw near to Him. He loves you so much. These chapters regarding the end of days may sound alarming and they are intended to be. He told us the things to come so that we may be ready and stand firm!

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some people think of slowness; on the contrary, he is patient with you; for it is not his purpose that anyone should be destroyed, but that everyone should turn from his sins.” 2 Peter 3:9 CJB
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed.” John 3:16 CJB
“Yeshua (Jesus) said to her, “I AM the Resurrection and the Life! Whoever puts his trust in me will live, even if he dies;” John 11:25 CJB
