“You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
Do you ever feel like everyone else has a destination, calling or talent and you don’t? Standing in the crowd of people who know what their talent is and thrive in it can feel lonely. You celebrate and encourage them on their journey trying not to think too much about yours. But out of the depths of the darkness a whisper creeps in, “Talentless. No destination. Wanderer”. It’s a constant battle, a choice, to cast out those lies and shift your focus back on God.
This is a cycle in my life. The first step to breaking it is realizing where that deadly whisper comes from and why the enemy relentlessly recites it. But each time he comes with his fiery deceptive tactics the battle gets shorter and shorter. I now know to take it to the Father’s throne each time asking the Lord to pour His truth back into me.
Tonight He spoke to my spirit. I’ve always wondered why the Israelite’s took so long to make it to the Promise Land and why they lost faith so often. The enemy’s deadly whisper penetrated their hearts too. I can imagine that he was playing a similar tape, “Destination-less. What Promiseland? Everyone else has a home, a purpose, but you were made to wander like sheep without a Shepherd.” It is vital to take our thoughts captive because once the enemy begins to spat lies, if unguarded, it can become a breeding ground for imprisonment and confusion.
The next step is remembering who He is and who we are in Him. We must remember that we are Sons & Daughters, filled with purpose and promise, keeping our eyes on Him. We must live out the truth. We are sheep with a Shepherd. Our names are written on the palm of His hands and no one can pluck us out. Choose today, Warrior Child, to serve Him and to hold firm to His truth. Proverbs 18:21 says “The tongue has power over life and death;those who indulge it must eat its fruit.”. So the next time the enemy comes prowling speak life and His Word over your life and watch him flee.
